A Weekend in DC
July in DC meant heat, energy, and a mix of history with a modern flare. I wanted my wardrobe to feel light but still intentional—pieces that balanced comfort in the summer sun with curated styling. Between exploring the waterfront, grabbing ice cream, refreshing drinks, and slipping into local spots, each outfit carried its own personality.
The Wardrobe
Blue Stripes with a White Mini
A crisp striped button-down layered over a flowy white mini skirt, styled with a Boston fitted, loafers, and socks. Preppy, playful, and light enough for the heat.
Linear Play
A striped button-down with a pinstripe skirt and nude heels. Easy to move in but refined enough for evenings out. (Also gotta remember to bring backup sandals in the same nude tone in case the walking kicks up from place to place!)
Sport Tee & Khakis
Relaxed khakis paired with a crop top tee and Mowalola trucker. Masculine-leaning, softened by its details and accessories.
The Food
One of our first stops for food was Ambar on Capitol Hill. The food was incredible. With a one-time payment of $60 each, we got to enjoy a number of small and easily shareable plates with light and flavorful drinks. Another great experience being our visit to the Ron David Cafe for breakfast and some light work as well as Union Market and La Consecha nearby.
The City
We of course had to ride scooters near the monuments that would allow it and traveled a pretty far distance back to our stay, taking in the authentic vibe of the city along the way.
Trips like this remind me that style doesn’t have to be overthought. It’s about ease with intention—lightweight fabrics, curated details, and the confidence to let things flow naturally in the moment after the hard work is done!
